Wales has two official languages – English and Welsh.
Although more people in Wales speak English, the Welsh language is a very important part of Welsh culture and identity. Learning the Welsh language can be a very useful skill in the workplace and in your local community. Public bodies, businesses and charities all need Welsh language speakers to help them to communicate in both official language of Wales.
If you wanted to say ‘Welcome to Wales’ to someone in Welsh, you would say ‘Croeso I Gymru’. To say ‘thank you’ you would say ‘Diolch’.
